Archbishop Kevin (London’s Diocese of Southwark) is looking forward to welcoming all people from around the diocese to Aylesford Priory this Saturday, 27th June 2009, to celebrate the conclusion of The Year of Saint Paul.
Diocesan gathering will take place from 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. Mass will be offered at 12 noon and a Celebration of the Word of God at 3:30 pm. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, arranged by the Missionaries of Saint Paul, will be available throughout the day – except during Mass and the Celebration of the Word of God.
Pope Benedict XVI has granted his Apostolic Blessing to those who attend and Archbishop Kevin will give this blessing at the end of the Mass. It offers a Plenary Indulgence to those who are truly detached and repentant of sin, purified by the Sacrament of Penance, restored by Holy Communion and pray for the intention of the Holy Father.
A Plenary Indulgence, on the same conditions, is also offered to those throughout the diocese who attend Mass or other Solemn Prayers in honour of Saint Paul on the Vigil and Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.
