London’s Cardinal Cormac invited a number of World Youth Day (WYD) pilgrims to meet with him at Archbishop’s House.
His Eminence was keen to hear of the pilgrims experiences during their time in Australia in the summer, with the Cardinal also mentioning his own personal highlights. The night however was not merely a nostalgic exercise but also an opportunity for the Cardinal to set a challenge to our young people; the challenge to build upon the experience of WYD and to convey this spirit to other young people within our Diocese.
David Burke, Director of Youth Ministry states: I am very grateful to the Cardinal and to our pilgrims for being able to spend some time together. The young people present were not daunted by the Cardinal�s challenge, in fact they were very enthusiastic about what could be done. Our aim is that forthcoming events can build upon our pilgrimage and also be a springboard for WYD Madrid in 2011.
